Fred J. Conforti was president and a founder of First Alert, the leading home smoke detector brand. He founded System Sensor, which is now owned by Honeywell, and Wireless Access, now part of Ingersoll Rand. He received his MBA from Northwestern University and his B.S.E.E. from IIT.
