THE AUTHOR

M. Celeste Highsmith is a Grandma(MayMay), artist, and storyteller living in Pikeville, NC. Her grown kids have hopped to other lily pads, but their childhood antics-like her son’s endless “Yeah, but Mom…”-gave her inspiration for this tale. She loves painting, nature and whimsy, garden adventures, and grandkid giggles.

Yeahbut the Frog was created from a joke about her then four-year-old sounding like a frog croaking “Yeahbut” instead of “Ribbit.” This tadpole’s story of curiosity and growth hopes to spark laughs and leaps for little ones as well as learning of growth stages of frogs.
