B.J. (Betty) Barker has been married to Ron, a pastor and her Reedley High School sweetheart, for fifty-five years. Together they currently live out God\u2019s call to ministry in the Kern River Valley. She loves reading and writing, having a cup of tea with the girls, and playing fun games at family gatherings. She has a special love for vacationing and going on dinner-and-a-movie dates with her husband. She writes about the unique story of the Stick Lizards, which came from a family legend told by her dad. Each time their family traveled through the Mojave Desert, he would tell them to look out the window of their car to see the legendary Stick Lizards running through the desert. Barker and her three brothers always believed the stories to be true. Because her mom wanted to keep the legend alive for the family, Barker created the Mystical, Magical, and Legendary Adventures series. She has a passion for and a deep desire to help children at home and around the world to have fun reading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
