For an entire year.
You will notice that every four weeks includes a balance of the following:
Week One – Old Testament text
Week Two – A Psalm
Week Three – Gospel text
Week Four – Epistle text
There are also special sections, with the same 5-day format. For six weeks in the spring, there is a Lenten series on spiritual practices called Praxis, Etc. This leads into Holy Week with a day to day reading plan for the last week of Jesus’ life. This is followed by a new week of scripture engagement for Easter Monday.
Another special season of the church year is Advent. Starting the four Sundays before Christmas, you will engage with some of the prophecies around Jesus’ birth as recorded in the gospel of Matthew. Then, on Christmas day, we start a 5 Days of Christmas scripture readings.
At the end of the year, there is a year-end review of consolations and desolations.
