John Gill (1697\u20131771 AD) was an English Baptist pastor, biblical scholar, and theologian. He was born in Kettering, Northamptonshire, and attended Kettering Grammar School where he mastered the Latin classics and learned Greek by age 11. Gill\u2019s first pastoral work was as an intern assisting John Davis at Higham Ferrers in 1718 at age 21. He became pastor at the Strict Baptist church at Goat Yard Chapel, Horsleydown, Southwark, in 1719.

His pastorate lasted 51 years. Charles H. Spurgeon began pastoring the same church 83 years later in 1854. Ethelbert William Bullinger (1837\u20131913 AD) was an Anglican clergyman, biblical scholar, and theologian. He was born in Canterbury, Kent, England, and his family traced its lineage back to the noted Swiss reformer Heinrich Bullinger (1504-1557).

He was educated at King\u2019s College, London, and gained recognition in Biblical languages. Bullinger\u2019s career in the Church of England spanned from 1861 to 1888. In the spring of 1867, Bullinger became clerical secretary of the Trinitarian Bible Society, a position he held until he died in 1913.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
