I am truly humbled and blessed that God entrusted me with the gift of this story. Never did I imagine that at the age of 60, I would be inspired to write a book. Yet here I am—grateful beyond words. Above all, I give thanks to God, who chose me, of all people, to share this beautiful journey. Thank You, Lord.

I am especially thankful for my incredible wife, Debra. Her deep wisdom and unwavering faith have been a guiding light throughout this process. She has been my rock, my inspiration, and my constant source of encouragement. Every day, I thank God for blessing me with Debra—my partner in life and my dearest friend.

My heartfelt gratitude also goes to my daughter, LaTosha. Her early life experiences, particularly the birth of her son DeAundre, provided the foundation for this story. The recent arrival of her daughter, Aaliyah, further inspired me to begin writing. Through her eyes, I’ve witnessed the strength, resilience, and beauty of a young mother’s journey.

Lastly, I want to thank my son, Shawn, whose support has meant to the world to me. His journey as a young man finding his place in this world has offered me a fresh perspective and served as another wellspring of inspiration.
