THE AUTHOR

Professor Emeritus of Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, he is the co-author of a two-volume book (Engineering Mechanics-Statics & Engineering Mechanics-Dynamics). He has also translated the magnum opus work by his professor M.Inan (Strength of Materials). He has published numerous refereed articles in a variety of scientific journals and proceedings. Upon retirement he turned his attention to the conditions prevailing in his native country: In 2002 (in Turkish) and again in 2006 (in English) he wrote about his beloved land.

The second book (Silent capitulations:The Kemalist Republic under Assault) has been, subsequently translated in Turkish and published in 2008. His latest attempt to call attention to the plight of Turkey was in 2010 when he and XLibris joined to publish (The Agony of the KEMALIST Republic and the rise of a FASCIST brotherhood of the corrupt, by the corrupt, for the corrupt). Prof. Sami has traveled extensively in Turkey, the old Soviet Union, in Asia and throughout Europe. He lives in Southern Illinois.
