Told largely from Mia\u2019s perspective, the book traces her life with her adoptive family: first in Kathleen\u2019s apartment, then in her grandparents\u2019 condominium shared with five cats, and later in a house with a yard in Waltham, where Mia could finally run freely and swim in the family\u2019s pool. Along the way, she experiences city parks and sidewalks in Cambridge, excursions along the Charles River, visits through the gates of Harvard Yard, and a memorable family trip to Portland, Maine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
