Lester Barr lives near Manchester Airport in England. He has a professional background as a surgeon, and his research interests are in cancer prevention and cancer genetics. He has a particular interest in the relationship between science, atheism, and faith and hopes that this book will help Generation Alpha challenge the atheistic assumptions of how schools and colleges often teach science.

The ‘optional extra’ science chapters at the end of each book give an introduction to recent discoveries in cosmology, quantum mechanics, physics, chemistry, biology, genetics and even computer science which provide scientific pointers to an intelligent and loving Creator God as the reason behind our universe, our planet, and us! These themes are explored in more depth for Gen Alpha studying science at secondary education high school level in his other book: Science, God and Generation Alpha.
