Berti and the Leprechaun

Berti and the Leprechaun is a humorous, illustrated children’s picture book about family, Irish folklore, and seeing the world through a child’s eyes.

The story is narrated by Berti, a young boy who lives with his parents, his sister Barra, their dog Betsy, and their cat Bonkers. Life at home becomes increasingly entertaining because Berti’s Irish mother is convinced that a mischievous leprechaun is living in their house.

Whenever something disappears—a green scarf, her keys, homemade soda bread, or even Berti’s missing homework—Mom blames the “sneaky leprechaun” rather than ordinary explanations. Berti, however, remains skeptical and believes there’s always a logical reason behind the missing items.
