About the Author

This story was inspired by the author’s time living in Kingston upon Thames, where peaceful river walks and playful squirrels sparked her imagination. Her family’s life was deeply challenged when her son was diagnosed with cancer. During his brave battle-supported by a life-saving bone marrow donor, Maximus and Nefeli’s adventures paused but never stopped.

Writing this story was a way to show her son that life may pause, but joy and courage always return. She dedicates this book to all cancer fighters, their families, and the amazing doctors and hospital staff whose strength, bravery, and tireless compassion inspire us every day. Heroes and heroines don’t always live within the pages of books, often, they are found among us in the real world. And to the brave souls who have become beautiful angels-your sparkle stays in our hearts like twinkling stars, reminding us that love and courage always shine bright, like a gentle light that never fades away.
