I have been a record collector since I was a young child growing up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. When I discovered used-record stores in the mid-1970s, I finally had a way to economically collect as much music as I wanted to. I have been writing about rock music for twenty years or more, including eighty posts on Facebook in the 2010s on what I call underappreciated rock bands. (i.e., those with no Wikipedia article) that I have turned into a fully indexed website with 10,000 webpages. I marvel, and not for the first time, that my compulsion to create the Facebook posts occurred while I was working full-time as a commercial real estate appraiser in coastal Mississippi. One-fourth to one-third of the book borrowed from that website. My other interests include the horror and science fiction movies that I grew up with, along with short stories and novellas in the same genres.
