What gives a life its shape? For Jim Meehan, the answer begins with a single letter: P.
Born in wartime Liverpool, Meehan traces an extraordinary journey through poverty, priestly vocation, personnel management, partnership, parenthood, psychology, poetry, physical disability, and a lifelong habit of probing life’s hardest questions. Along the way, mentors, family, faith, doubt, work, love, travel, and loss repeatedly redirect his path.
His story moves from seminary studies and the British motor industry to an international career in positive psychology, from marathon running and mountain walking to the loss of both legs below the knee in his eighties. Yet this is not simply a record of achievement or adversity. It is an intimate, often humorous reflection on the people and relationships that make us who we are.
Warm, candid, and searching, “P” is for JIM asks what it means to live meaningfully when certainty gives way to mystery—and finds enduring hope in curiosity, resilience, and the transformative power of human connection.
